Stunning Peel Estate Wines is a world class winery that has been an integral part of the Peel Region for over 40 years.
In 1973 the first Shiraz vines were planted, followed by Chenin Blanc and Zinfandel in 1976, and Cabernet Sauvignon in 1979. Other varieties such as Chardonnay, Verdelho, Cabernet Franc and the traditional Portuguese Port Varieties were planted in 1980.
The Peel region with its close proximity to the Indian Ocean is the ideal location to grow wine grapes as it combines unique coastal limestone soils and a Mediterranean climate, ensuring wines with fruit intensity along with specific regional characteristics.
All wine at Peel Estate is made on site in the original architect designed colonial style brick and timber winery, set in a magnificent environment dominated by Tuart trees.
Visitors can observe the daily activities of the winery from the mezzanine tasting area or enjoy the tranquility of the spacious lawn area that includes a BBQ facilities – perfect for picnics with the family.
